A few issues can cause the disturbance your pump may be causing. Commonly the issue is related to improper plumbing as per the photo below. When an elbow is installed to close to the pump it causes back pressure pushing water back down against the impeller causing vibration to occur. This can also wear down the lifetime of your pump. By ensuring there is a minimum of 1ft of hose/pipe on the inlet and outlet of the pump, you will alleviate the back pressure allowing the water to move more smoothly. It also recommended to use a sweep elbow allowing a more gradual curve for improved water flow and efficiency.

Another potential cause can be due to damaged bearing and mechanical seals. A mechanical seal is used to prevent waster from entering into the motor. Rubber grips the shaft, while ceramic and graphite rub against one another to allow the shaft to spin freely, while not allowing liquid intrusion. If the seal is damaged it can cause very loud whining and grinding noises to emanate from your pump. This will also allow water into the motor causing catastrophic damage to occur.
